ENTRY DEADLINES

  • Registration Opens: Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 12:00pm EST
  • Early Entry Deadline: Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 5:00pm EDT
  • Final Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 5:00pm EDT

 

Two entry deadlines have been established.  The “Early Entry Deadline” will permit Golf Canada to accept players prior to the “Final Registration Deadline” and allow more time to plan travel.  Early entry into the championship is at the discretion of the Golf Canada Selection Committee.  At least 50 of the players registered prior to the Early Entry Deadline for each championship will be accepted into the championship.

 

Note: If the field is under-subscribed after the entry deadline, Golf Canada reserves the right to accept all eligible applications and extend the entry deadline by up to two weeks.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Mid-Amateur: This competition is open to female amateur golfers who have reached their 25th birthday by the first round of the championship, July 11, 2024.
  2. Mid-Master: This competition is open to female amateur golfers who have reached their 40th birthday by the first round of the championship, July 11, 2024.
  3. Handicap Index must be 12.0 or less on the date of the application filing and at the registration deadline. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure their Handicap Index is up to date before the registration deadline. 
  4. This competition is open to female amateur golfers who are members of a golf club belonging to Golf Canada or holds a Public Player membership with Golf Canada.  International players must be members in good standing with their respective association.
  5. All applications are subject to approval or rejection by Golf Canada at any time before or after the start of play.
  6. Any player who believes they are eligible to use the Modification for Players with Disabilities (Rule 25), should contact amchamps@golfcanada.ca at entry to confirm their eligibility to use the specific modifications in Rule 25.  Please refer to the Policy for Eligibility Requirements of Players with Disabilities under Rule 25 and the Rule 25 Request Form.

 


ENTRY FEE & APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. The entry fee for the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship is $300 CAD (tax included).  Please note that Golf Canada only accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) as a method of payment.
  2. To apply, visit www.golfcanada.ca/competitions-calendar and click on the register link by the event you would like to participate in.  Remember to submit the application well in advance of the registration deadline.  Late, incomplete, or inaccurate applications will not be accepted and are not the responsibility of Golf Canada. 
  3. Canadian players must register as a “Golf Canada member.”  You will then be instructed to log-in to Golf Genius, using their Golf Canada membership credentials. If you need assistance accessing your Golf Canada membership, please call 1-800-263-0009 x399 or email members@golfcanada.ca. 
  4. International players must register as a "non-member.”
  5. After registering, players will receive an email noting their application is PENDING.  Payment will not be processed until a player is ACCEPTED.  Once a player is accepted into a championship and payment has been processed, entry fees are non-refundable.

 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

The Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship will feature a maximum of 156 players.  If the field is under-subscribed at the closing deadline, all eligible players will be accepted.  If the field is over-subscribed at the closing deadline, the Golf Canada Selection Committee will select the field’s non-exempt players.  Please note that members of provincial teams are exempt from the Handicap Index limit.  Golf Canada reserves the right to revise the championship field based upon the entries received before the registration deadline of each event. 

 

Provincial Quota Spots

Each Provincial Golf Association has been allocated a quota of entries into the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.  Each Provincial Golf Association will decide on how their quota spots will be filled.  Golf Canada will invite the players who qualify through their respective province.  The registration must be completed within 72 hours of receiving the invitation.  Unused quota spots past that deadline will be returned to Golf Canada for discretionary use.

The champion of the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship earns an exemption into the following events:

  • 2024 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship
  • 2024 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship
  • 2025 Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship



CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT

The Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship is a 54-hole stroke play championship:

 

  • Mid-Amateur and Mid-Master Division: These competitions will run concurrently through the completion of 54 holes.
  • Inter-Provincial Team Competition: This competition will run concurrently through completion of the first 36 holes. Each day, the lowest two out of three individual 18-hole scores will count towards the team score.


Day 1: Registration, Official Practice Round, and Player Reception

Day 2 & 3: Round 1 & 2 – 18 Holes of Stroke Play (morning & afternoon crossover)

Day 4: Final Round – 18 Holes of Stroke Play (morning crossover only, followed promptly by Awards Ceremony)

 


CUT POLICY
After 36 holes the field will be reduced to the low 70 players and ties, based off the Mid-Amateur division.  A minimum of 10 Mid-Masters will make the cut and anyone within 10 shots of the Mid-Master leader.  If the field does not exceed 80 players, there will be no cut.

 


PLAY-OFFS

In the event of a tie for 1st place in the Mid-Amateur or Mid-Master divisions, it will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play.  In the event of a play-off for both the Mid-Amateur and Mid-Master division being required, the Committee will determine which play-off takes place first.  If a player is involved in both play-offs, separate play-offs will take place to determine the winners.  Any players tied for other positions will remain tied.

 

In the event of a tie for 1st place in the inter-provincial team competition, it will be decided by the tie-breaking procedure, whereby the non-counting team player’s score for the 2nd round will be used.  If teams remain tied, the non-counting score from the 1st round will be used.  If teams remain tied, it will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of team play on the 2nd round.   Any teams tied for other positions will remain tied.


 

REFUND POLICY AND NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL

Entry fees will be fully refunded if the Golf Canada Tournament Director is notified of the player’s intention to withdraw before the early entry registration deadline (Daniel Suppa; dsuppa@golfcanada.ca; 1-800-263-0009 ext. 434). 

 

Once a player is accepted into the championship, the entry fee will be processed and they are expected to participate.  If a player wishes to withdraw prior to the start of the championship, please notify Golf Canada well in advance to ensure an alternate has a fair opportunity to participate.  Failure to comply may result in DISQUALIFICATION from future Golf Canada competitions.

*Once a player is accepted into a championship, they will receive an acceptance email. If a player wishes to withdraw, they must do so within 72 hours of acceptance, otherwise they are subject to incur a $25 admin fee.


**Entry fees are non-refundable after the final registration deadline without a doctor’s note or medical certificate.  All refunds are subject to a $50 administrative fee after the early entry deadline

DATES LIMITES D’INSCRIPTION

  • Ouverture des inscriptions : Mercredi 6 mars 2024 à 12 h HNE
  • Échéance des préinscriptions : Mercredi 8 mai 2024 à 17 h HAE
  • Échéance des inscriptions finales : Mercredi 19 juin 2024 à 17 h HAE

 

Deux dates limites d’inscription ont été établies. L’échéance des préinscriptions permet à Golf Canada d’accepter des joueuses avant l’échéance des inscriptions finales et laisse à celles-ci plus de temps pour préparer leur voyage. La préinscription aux championnats est acceptée à la discrétion du Comité de sélection de Golf Canada. Au moins 50 joueuses parmi celles préinscrites seront acceptées à ce championnat.

 

Remarque : Si le tableau de compétition n’est pas complet après la date limite d’inscription, Golf Canada se réserve le droit d’accepter toutes les demandes admissibles et de prolonger la date limite d’inscription jusqu’à deux semaines.

 

 

ADMISSIBILITÉ

    1. Mid-amateur : Cette compétition est ouverte aux golfeuses amateurs qui ont atteint leur 25e anniversaire au premier jour du championnat, prévu pour le 11 juillet 2024.
    2. Mid-maître : Cette compétition est ouverte aux golfeuses amateurs qui ont atteint leur 40e anniversaire au premier jour du championnat, prévu pour le 11 juillet 2024.
    3. L’index de handicap doit être de 12.0 ou moins en date de la demande d’inscription et de l’échéance des inscriptions. Il incombe à chaque joueuse de s’assurer que son index de handicap est à jour avant la date limite des inscriptions.
    4. Cette compétition est ouverte aux golfeuses amateurs qui sont membres d’un club de golf affilié à Golf Canada ou qui détiennent une adhésion de golfeuse publique à Golf Canada. Les joueuses étrangères doivent être membres en règle de leur association respective.
    5. Toutes les demandes d’inscription seront soumises à l’approbation de Golf Canada qui se réserve le droit d’accepter ou de refuser toute inscription en tout temps, avant ou durant le tournoi.
    6. Toute joueuse qui croit être admissible à l’utilisation de la Modifications pour les joueurs handicapés (Règle 25) devrait contacter amchamps@golfcanada.ca au moment de son inscription afin de confirmer son admissibilité à se prévaloir des modifications précises pertinentes de la Règle 25. Veuillez consulter la Politique relative aux exigences d’admissibilité des joueurs handicapés en vertu de la Règle 25 et le Formulaire de demande de la Règle 25.

 

 

PROCÉDURE ET FRAIS D’INSCRIPTION

    1. Les frais d’inscription pour le Championnat canadien mid-amateur féminin est de 300 $CAN (taxes comprises) par joueuse. Veuillez noter que Golf Canada n’accepte que les cartes de crédit (Visa, MasterCard et American Express) comme mode de paiement.
    2. N’oubliez pas de soumettre votre formulaire d’inscription bien avant l’échéance des inscriptions. Les inscriptions en retard, incomplètes ou inexactes ne seront pas acceptées et ne relèvent pas de la responsabilité de Golf Canada
    3. Les athlètes canadiennes doivent s’inscrire comme « membre de Golf Canada ». Vous serez alors invitée à vous connecter à Golf Genius, en utilisant votre identifiant de membre de Golf Canada. Si vous avez besoin d’aide pour accéder à votre adhésion à Golf Canada, veuillez composer le 1-800-263-0009, poste 399, ou envoyer un courriel à membres@golfcanada.ca.
    4. Les joueuses étrangères doivent s’inscrire en tant que « non-membre ».
    5. Après s’être inscrites, les joueuses recevront un courriel les informant que leur inscription est EN ATTENTE. Le paiement ne sera pas traité tant que la golfeuse ne sera pas ACCEPTÉE. Une fois qu’une joueuse est acceptée dans un championnat et que son paiement a été traité, les frais d’inscription ne sont pas remboursables.

 

 

TABLEAU DE COMPÉTITION

Le Championnat canadien mid-amateur féminin comptera un maximum de 156 joueuses. Si le nombre de participantes inscrites est insuffisant à la date limite, toutes les joueuses admissibles seront acceptées. Si le tableau de compétition est en surnombre à la date limite, le Comité de sélection de Golf Canada choisira les joueuses non exemptées au tableau. Veuillez noter que les membres des équipes provinciales ne sont pas assujetties à la limite d’index de handicap. Golf Canada se réserve le droit de réviser le tableau de compétition des championnats en fonction des inscriptions reçues avant la date limite d’inscription de chaque tournoi.

 

Quotas provinciaux

Chaque association provinciale de golf dispose d’un quota d’inscriptions au Championnat canadien mid-amateur féminin. Chaque association provinciale décide de la composition de son contingent. Golf Canada invitera les joueuses qualifiées par le truchement de leur association provinciale. Les joueuses doivent soumettre leur inscription dans les 72 heures suivant la réception de leur invitation. Les places qui n’auront pas été utilisées par une province dans les délais prescrits reviendront à Golf Canada qui les utilisera à sa discrétion.

La gagnante du Championnat canadien mid-amateur féminin obtient une exemption pour participer aux tournois suivants :

  • Championnat canadien amateur féminin 2024
  • Championnat mid-amateur féminin des États-Unis 2024
  • Championnat canadien mid-amateur féminin 2025

 

 

FORMULE DU CHAMPIONNAT

Le Championnat canadien mid-amateur féminin sera disputé en parties par coups sur 54 trous :

 

  • Divisions mid-amateur et mid-maître : Ces compétitions se disputeront simultanément jusqu’à la conclusion du jeu sur 54 trous.
  • Compétition interprovinciale par équipes : Cette épreuve se disputera en même temps que les premiers 36 trous. Chaque jour, les deux scores les plus bas des trois scores individuels sur 18 trous compteront pour le score d’équipe.

Jour 1 : Enregistrement, ronde officielle d’entraînement et réception des joueuses.

Jours 2 et 3 : Rondes 1 et 2 – 18 trous en parties par coups (croisement le matin et l’après-midi)

Jour 4 : Ronde finale – 18 trous en partie par coups (croisement le matin, cérémonie de remise des prix immédiatement après le jeu)

 

 

POLITIQUE DE COUPERET

Après 36 trous, le tableau sera ramené aux 70 premières places de la catégorie mid-amateur, y compris les égalités. Un minimum de 10 mid-maîtres seront qualifiées pour la finale, de même que quiconque sera à 10 coups ou moins de la meneuse des mid-maîtres. Si le tableau de compétition ne compte pas plus de 80 joueuses, il n’y aura pas de couperet.

 

 

PROLONGATION

En cas d’égalité pour la 1ère place de la division mid-amateur ou mid-maître, le départage se fera par prolongation trou-par-trou immédiatement après la fin du jeu réglementaire. Si une prolongation s’impose dans les deux divisions, mid-amateur et mid-maître, le Comité de tournoi déterminera quelle prolongation disputer en premier. Si une joueuse doit participer aux deux prolongations, des épreuves séparées auront lieu pour déterminer les gagnantes. Les joueuses à égalité pour d’autres positions resteront à égalité.

 

S’il y a égalité pour la 1ère place dans la compétition interprovinciale par équipes, on utilisera la procédure de bris d’égalité, où le score de la joueuse de l’équipe n’ayant pas compté pour la 2e ronde servira à départager les équipes. Si ces équipes restent à égalité, le score non compté de la 1ère ronde sera utilisé. Si les équipes sont toujours à égalité, elles seront départagées par une prolongation trou par trou immédiatement après la fin du jeu par équipes de la 2e ronde. Les équipes à égalité pour d'autres positions resteront à égalité.

 

 

POLITIQUE DE REMBOURSEMENT ET AVIS DE RETRAIT

Les frais d’inscription seront entièrement remboursés si le directeur de tournoi de Golf Canada (Daniel Suppa : dsuppa@golfcanada.ca;1-800-263-0009, p. 434) est avisé de l’intention de la joueuse de se retirer avant la date limite des préinscriptions.

 

Une fois que les joueuses sont acceptées pour un championnat, leurs frais d’inscription sont encaissés et l’on s’attend à ce qu’elles participent au tournoi. Si une joueuse souhaite se retirer avant le début d’un championnat, elle doit en aviser Golf Canada bien à l’avance afin de donner une chance équitable à une remplaçante de jouer. À défaut de respecter cette obligation, la joueuse s’expose à une DISQUALIFICATION des futures compétitions de Golf Canada.
